About Me

Hi, I'm Rayna.

I always wanted to be a spy, but as I'm frequently afraid and can't keep a secret, it was never going to work. So, I chose to write about spies instead.

 

A little about me: in keeping with the maxim of “write what you know,” I am a Black woman, married to a Swede, and I have spent many summers in Sweden. By day, I’m a researcher (my doctorate was in comparative politics), and my nights are spent trying to figure out how to get Katrina out of her latest jam. When I’m not writing, I can be found crafting or in the garden. A life-long learner, I skip the lesser C-SPANs to watch C-SPAN 3. Life goals? One day getting on Jeopardy. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and our drooly Newfoundland. I am a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association and a 2020 Pitch Wars mentee.
